Privacy Policy

Thank you for reading my GDPR compliant privacy policy!

Whilst the new EU regulations seem to have caused mass hysteria amongst small businesses, it really is a positive thing and a step in the right direction… I’m sure I’m not the only one who have received huge numbers of GDPR related emails from companies, right?
Like most small businesses I am one of the good guys, I won’t share your personal data and the new regulations pretty much require me to do what is within the realms of my work, so here we go…

Personal data I collect

I collect your name, your postal and email address and your mobile number because this is the basic information that I need to communicate, raise contracts and communicate about our session and provide you with your online gallery and products you order.

If there’s something unrelated to your session but related to something, we had a human conversation about like a really cool tapas restaurant, I may well email you about that too.

I keep personal data so that I can make contact in the future for the reasons detailed below!

How I use your data & why

When it comes to your photographs, the EU hasn’t gotten too specific about what that means for working photographers bar that we need to demonstrate reasonable and legitimate use. I can tell you that I won’t sell your images. If a third party does approach me asking me to buy one of your images for an advert or anything else exciting like that, I will email you about it.

If I feel I have taken award-winning photos and I would like to enter them into a competition I will contact you to ask if you are okay with it.

There’s a couple of things I do to run my business, like show my work on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and my own website. If you have booked me you’ve probably seen them, it’s pretty difficult to market myself without them. My clients can opt-in to allow me to share their images.. and thank goodness most of you do! That said, if going public is not your thing you can keep your session private, it’s not a problem, just let me know at the time of booking so I can make a note in your paperwork.

Whilst I would like to keep your personal data for the reasons detailed above I will never use it to send you seasonal newsletters. To receive my newsletters, clients need to subscribe via my website on or on my Facebook page.

How I collect and keep your personal data

I collect your personal date via my website, email, over the phone or in person. I store your personal data in my GDPR compliant invoicing system and on my hard drive which is stored in my home and password protected.

I store subscriptions data in my newsletter software account that is also GDPR compliant.

Your right of confirmation, access, rectification and to be forgotten

If you have questions about how your personal data is handled, you can just drop me an email and I will endeavour to answer all your queries. I’m happy to show you the information I have on you. If some of the information is wrong, you have the right to correct it. If you’d like me to delete all your personal data, you just need to let me know and I will do so.
